Awards galore! . . . Posted March 24, 2008 Andromeda Spaceways Inflight Magazine picked up a Ditmar for "Best Professional Acheivement" at Swancon over the Easter weekend. (The Ditmars are the Australian Science Fiction Awards, and they recognise excellence by Australians in Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror.) There's more good news: We published Rick Kennett's story 'The Dark and What It Said' in ASIM #28, and he just scored the Ditmar for the best short story of 2007. And more: Tehani Wessely, a founding member, editor of numerous issues, and the driving force behind the three ASIM best-ofs, picked up the Ditmar for best new talent. Also, spies tell me the Andromeda Spaceways co-op won a Sir Julius Vogel award for 'Services to Science Fiction' at the NZ national convention. Finally, Simon Haynes, founding member of ASIM, sometime slush reader, full-time ASIM webmaster and Navigator, saw his novel 'Hal Spacejock: Just Desserts' score a WA Science Fiction Foundation 'Tin Duck' award for Best WA Professional Long Work, also at Swancon. What a haul! Tags: Awards See the main page for a list of recent news. Don't keep this page secret!
